Miss Universe Singapore finalists are treated to food and drinks at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel

Amid the mounting pressure of the Miss Universe Singapore (MUS) 2016 finals on Oct 16, the top 15 finalists finally had a night off to relax at the Tempo Bar at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel on Thursday night.

The girls enjoyed the Garden Of Eve ladies' night promotion, which happens every Thursday from 7.30pm to 9pm.

The entry fee for Garden Of Eve costs $40++, and women can enjoy free flow of Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut Champagne and Strongbow Ciders.

From 9pm till closing, all women enjoy 50 per cent off all house pours.

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel is the official venue sponsor for MUS 2016 and the grand finals will be held at its Grand Ballroom.

Finalists Nutan Rai, Althea Lew and Vanessa Tay treated the night as their "cheat day", as they bonded by taking photos, toasting champagnes and munching on pizzas.

Althea, 25, a marketing manager, told The New Paper: "Having something like this is a privilege so I'm going to enjoy it and work my butt off the next few days (for the finals)."

Vanessa, 19, a theatre student at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, added: "The past few days, I've been having a high fever of 40 deg C, so now it's time I finally eat some good food."

The trio also preferred "more chill" ladies' night events at bars to clubbing.

Nutan, a 24-year-old nurse, told TNP: "It's good to (club) once in a while, but if you do it every weekend, it does get boring.

"At a club, it's difficult to talk to each other over the loud music.

"Ladies' night is more relaxed and you get to mingle and talk to people."

The finalists are also looking forward to their staycation - sponsored by the hotel - the night before the MUS finals.

FRIENDLY

Nutan said: "I can practise catwalking with the other girls. They are all very friendly so we can help one another out."

Althea added: "I love staycations because it's something that can bond us."

Mr Vincent Le Gorrec, general manager of the hotel, said: "As we have just unveiled a brand new lobby and integrated dining destination (interactive buffet restaurant Food Capital, Italian grill Grissini and the Tempo Bar), we are confident that the beautiful contestants will have a memorable experience here."
