This article is more than 12 months old

A 21-year-old man is being investigated for brandishing a realistic-looking toy gun at Bugis MRT station last Tuesday (March 15).

The police were informed about the incident at around 1.10pm that day after a member of the public spotted the unidentified male subject carrying an object which looked like a rifle.

After mobilising "extensive" resources to track down the man, the police arrested him at his Toa Payoh home on the same day.

Initial investigations indicate that the object in question was a toy gun that the man had purchased online.

The police are treating the case as one of causing public alarm and advised the public to avoid actions that might do so in the future.
