A Singaporean man in Bangkok insisted on completing his facelift, even as the Thai capital experienced tremors following a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake in neighbouring Myanmar on March 28.

While the earthquake rattled many Singaporeans in Bangkok, 34-year-old Lin Minde remained unfazed.

"I'm not afraid of plastic surgery, so why would I be afraid of an earthquake?"

The influencer told Shin Min Daily News that after completing the facelift, he was scheduled for an hour-long swelling reduction treatment.

When Mr Lin saw the clinic staff in a state of panic, he initially thought he was hallucinating due to the anaesthesia.

"I was lying in the swelling reduction device and the clinic suddenly became very noisy, with staff running around," he said.

He was told to evacuate, but insisted on finishing the treatment.

After the procedure, he noticed many people gathered outside the building, anxiously awaiting instructions from the authorities.

However, with the anaesthetic still wearing off, Mr. Lin returned to his hotel to rest.

The surgery reportedly cost Mr Lin 60,000 baht (S$2,400).

He shared that Bangkok has returned to normal, though some streets are quieter than usual.
