S'porean households to get $500 in CDC vouchers from May 13, spend by Dec 31
Starting May 13, all Singaporean households will receive $500 worth of CDC vouchers to help ease daily expenses, said the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Community Development Councils (CDCs) in a joint release on Tuesday (April 15).
Half the amount ($250) can be used at participating supermarkets, while the other half is for heartland merchants and hawker stalls.
Vouchers will be valid until Dec 31, 2025.
7th round of CDC vouchers since initial launch in 2021
This marks the seventh round of CDC vouchers, first introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic to thank Singaporeans for their unity and support local businesses. The scheme has continued post-pandemic to help residents cope with inflation.
Another $300 payout is slated for Jan 2026, announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during Budget 2025.
In a Facebook post, South West District Mayor Low Yen Ling shared that more than 1.28 million households - roughly 97% - have claimed their earlier tranche of $300 CDC vouchers issued in Jan 2025.
So far, close to $300 million has been spent: over $142 million at hawkers and merchants, and more than $157 million at supermarkets.
Beware of scams: Authorities
MOF and the CDCs also reminded residents to stay vigilant and to be careful when claiming the payout.
"Please note that you will never receive a request to disclose your bank log-in details, be asked to transfer money, or install mobile applications from unofficial app stores to claim the CDC vouchers," they said in the release.
