Stepfather and stepson arrested after fight spills into Yishun flat corridor

A family dispute turned violent in a rental flat in Yishun, with a stepfather and stepson getting into a physical altercation that ended with both men being arrested.

The fight broke out around 10am on June 1 at Block 510A Yishun Street 51, which houses rental units.

Residents told Shin Min Daily News that several police officers were seen at the scene that morning.

The unit is reportedly occupied by a couple and a man in his 30s, believed to be the woman's son. Neighbours said tensions were common.

"They often argue. That day, they started fighting and it got physical. The younger man had a head injury. The fight even spilt out into the corridor," said one resident.

"Shortly after, the police arrived, took both men away, and began investigations."

The unit appeared empty when reporters visited.
