Stuck in a tree in M'sia, paraglider is freed more than two hours later
A French paraglider was left dangling for more than two hours in the Kuala Kubu Baru jungle in Malaysia.
Her friend, who was also part of the same paragliding club, called the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department after the parachute was caught in a tree branch, 24 metres off the ground.
The call was made at about 1.20pm yesterday. Rescuers freed her a few hours later.
“We... managed to get her down at about 4pm," said Operations commander Md Razi Hassan.
Six officers from the department rushed to the scene, and found the 28-year-old woman “hanging like a puppet”.
Md Razi Hassan said they had to climb a tree that had fallen next to the one she was caught on to create a rig to bring her down safely.
“She had no injuries but was quite tired,” said Md Razi.
