Taiwanese news anchor Lee Chinhyu from Next TV news had the heart breaking job of reporting on the apparent suicide of her friend and colleague Eric Shih.

Eric Shih, a fellow broadcaster on CtiTV, was found dead in his home in Taipei last Thursday in a suspected suicide attempt, British news site the Mirror reported.

While it is not known if Lee knew about the news before she was to read it on air, she did an admirable job of keeping up her professionalism, though she was visibly holding back tears.

The captions in the video read:

"Breaking news just in. It is reported that the CtiTVs news anchor Eric Shih has been found today in his house - committed suicide with plastic bag over his head. There was no note. His wife became extremely distraught since she found out the fact. The case is being investigated by the Taipei City police department, we will keep you updated."
