Eight teens reportedly "partied" at a self-service laundromat almost every night, causing the store to be messy and dirty.

One of them even climbed into a dryer, causing the store to call the police.

The incidents occurred at a Cleanpro 24-hour self-service laundromat at Block 801 West Coast Crescent.

Store manager Wan told Shin Min Daily News that since the store's opening in August 2024, around eight teens have been going to the store in the early morning.

They would stay for several hours, eating and drinking.

Ms Wan shared that cleaners often found food wrappers on the floor and in the laundry baskets, and that tables and chairs were covered with food residues and stains.

CCTV footage showed that this group of teenagers would sit on the benches, tables and even at the opening of the washing machines.

One video recorded at around 2am on Nov 30, 2024, captured a teenager stepping on a washing machine and climbing into the dryer above.

Ms Wan said that the next day, a customer reported to her that the door of a dryer could not be opened. She later found out that it was the same dryer the teenager climbed into and the door was broken.

"We put up a 'No eating and drinking' sign. We even printed out screengrab of CCTV footage and posted it in the store to deter them, but the sign was torn down the very next day."

When the reporter visited the laundromat on Feb 4, a female employee of a nearby convenience store confirmed that the group of teenagers were regular customers.

They would often buy food and take it to the laundromat to eat. The employee added that the teens would sometimes knock over items on shelves and even make a mess on the kitchen counter when making instant noodles.

"They were making noise in the store the day before yesterday. I asked them to be quiet, but they ignored me completely."

Nearby businesses are worried by the behaviour of the teens and hope authorities can intervene and restore order.

The police confirm that they have received a report and are currently investigating.
