No chance.

That was what one participant thought as The New Paper Bonus Challenge drew to a close last night.

After six weeks of trying, Mr Nigel Ng, 42, thought he was not getting any closer to winning a prize.

But Lady Luck finally smiled on Mr Ng and two others yesterday.

Mr Ng, one of two iPad Mini winners, said: "I had almost given up. I know I'm not the lucky sort when it comes to winning contests. But my wife was persistent and she tracked the Bonus numbers every day. And lucky for her, we won."

Mr Ng was driving yesterday when his wife called him to tell him the good news.

Like a gentleman, Mr Ng, a service engineer, told TNP that he would be giving the prize to his wife.

Also in a generous mood last night was cash prize winner Ruzaini Hilman.

The 24-year-old won $1,000, but will not be keeping it either.

The ITE student said: "I'm going to cheer my father up by giving him the cash. It will lift his spirits as he is not in the best of health."

Both father and son are loyal TNP readers who catch the latest from the sports pages.

Mr Ruzaini's father, 68, supports Manchester United, while Mr Ruzaini is a Chelsea fan.

Since the start of the Bonus Challenge, 11 winners had claimed a cash total of $36,000.

There were two Samsung Note 8 and four Samsung S4 winners, while 12 winners bagged iPad Minis.
