Town Council aware of recalcitrant pigeon feeder in Yishun, turns to NParks for help
A video of a woman feeding pigeons in Yishun has been shared on Reddit.
She is seen to be throwing food towards a flock of at least 20 pigeons.
The Redditor who uploaded the clip claimed the incident took place at 465B Yishun Avenue 6.
The National Environment Agency on its website states that feeding pigeons is illegal under the Wildlife Act and offenders can be fined up to $10,000 if caught.
In response to The New Paper's queries, Nee Soon Town Council said it was aware of the actions of the 465B Yishun Avenue 6 resident.
It added that despite multiple engagements from the Town Council, the woman chose to continue carrying out illegal feeding.
The Town Council has turned to NParks to carry out enforcement measures.
Pigeon population management measures have to be implemented to counter the irresponsible behaviour of recalcitrant feeders.
The Town Council said it shared the frustrations of residents and would continue to advise the recalcitrant feeder.
