TV crew finds millions hidden in wooden box in London flat
A television crew was recording a documentary about bailiffs when they stumbled upon a unusual find on Wednesday.
Stacks of dollar notes stashed in a wooden box hidden in a flat in east London, Mail Online reported.
The money was equivalent to about US$8.5 million (S$10 million).
The apartment is located in Wards Wharf in London’s Docklands.
The crew, believed to be filming a programme for a Channel 5 series, had followed the bailiffs to the property where they were executing a warrant to recover money in a separate issue.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that the cash was seized. It has been sent for authentication.
Arrested
A 29-year-old man has been arrested.
Authorities also confirmed there was no terrorism connection, Metro.co.uk reported.
