Two 12-year-old girls stab friend 19 times
Two 12-year-old girls were arrested on Saturday morning in Wisconsin after they stabbed their friend 19 times.
The two girls, who cannot be identified because they are minors, had met the victim at one of their homes for a birthday slumber party.
They then lured her into a wooded area to "play a game" and attacked her, said the local police department.
Once they arrived at the woods, she was stabbed throughout her body, including wounds to her heart, liver, pancreas, and stomach. A stab wound chest just missed a major artery, said the police.
"One suspect held the victim down while the other suspect stabbed her," Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack said at a press conference yesterday.
The victim barely made it out alive. She sustained several serious stab wounds to major organs, survived the attack and crawled out of the woods.
She ran into a passing cyclist who then called 911.
She was rushed into surgery and is currently in a stable condition. Medical staff said that she was "one millimeter from certain death".
Jack said that the suspects had plotted for months before the attack.
The police added that the two girls said they believed in a fictional evil character called Slenderman on creepypasta.com, which has a collection of stories about death and horror, and wanted to be one of his followers.
The two suspects are being held on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
