Two injured after BlueSG car skids on KJE and hits road divider
Two people in a BlueSG car were injured after the vehicle skidded on the Kranji Expressway (KJE) towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on March 1.
The police said they were alerted to the accident at 1.55pm.
The car was believed to have skidded, and the 39-year-old car driver and her 11-year-old passenger were both conscious when taken to hospital.
The Straits Times understands that the pair are mother and daughter.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that they were taken to the National University Hospital.
In a video of the accident posted on Facebook group SG Road Vigilante on the evening of March 1, a BlueSG car can be seen to be badly damaged after it hit a road divider on the expressway.
Besides large dents on the front of the car, as well as on the driver's side door, the video also shows the car's airbags deployed.
ST has contacted car-sharing firm BlueSG for more information.
The number of injuries caused by traffic accidents, as well as the number of deaths, was at a five-year high in 2024.
During the release of the Traffic Police's annual road traffic figures on Feb 21, Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) Daniel Tan, the commander of TP, had told the media: "It's a bleak situation; we're definitely concerned. On all counts, in terms of accidents, injuries and fatal accidents, numbers have gone up."
