Two men clash - apparently over women - outside Ang Mo Kio hawker centre
A scuffle broke out between two men outside a hawker centre in Ang Mo Kio on April 13, with onlookers claiming the dispute was over women.
The fight occurred around 5.40pm near Block 527 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, just outside a hawker centre.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the altercation escalated suddenly, with one of the men even removing his shirt before throwing punches.
Mr Wei, who witnessed the commotion, said the two men exchanged heated words before things turned physical.
"One shouted in English: 'He wanted to challenge me one-on-one!'" said the 77-year-old retiree.
He added that both men were seen throwing punches before eventually falling to the ground.
According to another resident, Mr Lim, 70, one of the men involved in the altercation is said to be a regular at the hawker centre and likely works nearby.
Triggered by jealousy
Bystanders told the Chinese daily that the fight was apparently sparked by unhappiness over women.
One of the men was reportedly displeased that the other - a married man - was dating other women, which led to the confrontation.
The police arrived at the scene shortly after the men started exchanging blows.
An elderly woman, believed to be the mother of one of the men, arrived at the scene with two other women. They were seen speaking to the police.
The police told The New Paper that it received a call for assistance at around 5.30pm. Two men, aged 54 and 55, suffered injuries but declined to go to the hospital.
Both were subsequently arrested for affray.
Two women, aged 54 and 46, are assisting with investigations for voluntarily causing hurt.
Police investigations are ongoing.
