Two boys on an e-bike were caught on video colliding into the rear of a car before fleeing the scene.

The car's rear dashcam captured the entire incident, which was later posted on Roads.sg Facebook page. The video has since garnered over 131,000 views.

The incident happened on Feb 25 at around 3.30pm, at the cross junction of Hougang Ave 8 and Hougang Ave 6.

The video shows the two riding without any safety gear and the boy on the back even had an earpiece plugged into one ear. There is no licence plate on the e-bike either.

The driver-passenger duo seemed oblivious of the car as they continued riding toward it.

Upon collision, the pair looked momentarily startled before quickly reversing and cutting to the next lane.

A motorcyclist was behind the teenagers when the incident happened. As they fled the scene, the motorcyclist quickly whipped out his phone to record their escape.

It is unclear if the car sustained any damage from the collision.

The video has sparked a heated debate among netizens, with many calling for an official report to be lodged against the e-bike riders for their reckless behaviour.

"Poor driver. The e-bike has no licence plate. Hopefully the riders can be identified and held to task," a netizen commented.

Another said: "This type of nonsense on the road is causing so much problems with the already problematic road we have."

One netizen added: "So important to have front and rear car cam, so no one can escape."

Some had a more humorous outlook on the case.

"At least they practice road safety, check the road clear before escaping," wrote one user.

Power-assisted bicycles (PAB) are permitted on roads under Land Transport Authority (LTA) regulations.

However, riders must adhere to specific rules, including wearing a helmet and ensuring the e-bike is registered with a licence plate, as mandated by law.
