Update: Girl who woke up at own funeral dies a day later
A three-year-old girl who woke up at her funeral in the Philippines was declared dead again a day later.
In a tragic turn of events, the child was found to have no signs of life after a cardiac monitor was used to assess her on Monday, reported news website Noypistuff.
She had been having severe fever for many days and was taken to hospital on Friday. She was declared dead the next day.
But at her funeral service at a church in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur on Sunday, she had woken up.
A neighbour who removed the cover of the coffin to arrange the body saw the girl moving her head, reported The Philippine Star. The girl was found to have a pulse and rushed to hospital.
Someone filmed the chaotic scene at the church and uploaded it on YouTube.
The parents' joy was short-lived as the child was declared dead again the next day, reported Mirror.
