Watching Game of Thrones reminded dad: 'I left baby in the car'
He only remembered his 10-month-old foster daughter when he saw a baby crying on the HBO series Game of Thrones.
Before that, Seth Jackson had left her in his hot car for more than two hours outside his home in Wichita, Kansas. It was about 32 degrees Celsius then, on July 24.
The car's windows were also cranked up.
When he was jerked back to reality, Jackson, who had been smoking marijuana, told his husband, who ran out to the car and pulled the baby out of the vehicle.
But by then, it was too late.
She had already died.
Daughter's body was stiff
The police have since charged Jackson, 29, with first-degree murder in the baby's death.
Her body was hot and so stiff that when both men tried to perform CPR on her, they could not open her mouth.
By the time the authorities arrived, she was found lying motionless on the couch. The police heard Jackson say: "I left her in the car, she's dead. She's dead."
The Wichita Eagle said Jackson had six foster children, including the girl.
The men were in the process of adopting the girl when she died.
