Woman, 34, in Penang nudist video held
Penang police have detained a woman to help their investigation on nude events.
The private music teacher, 34, gave a statement after she was picked up at an undisclosed location on Thursday night.
“She has since been released on police bail,” Supt Lai Fah Hin said at the district police headquarters yesterday.
He said they had also identified two key suspects, retired teacher Chew Tok Hwa, 57, and Albert Yam, believed to be in his 40s. They were allegedly participants and organisers of the event on May 30.
Chew is said to be from Sungai Petani while Yam is a Singaporean Permanent Resident.
The police also released 13 mugshots of the 18 suspected participants, in their 20s to 50s.
Malaysian police said those found guilty of conducting lewd activity in a public place can be jailed up to three months, fined or both.
Those found guilty of committing a gesture intended to insult the modesty of a person can be jailed up to five years, fined or both.
Previous media reports said Yam has in the past filmed himself naked in public at the MacRitchie Reservoir, Changi and East Coast Park.
The most recent video that he uploaded involved him and a handful of like-minded people baring all at Goldkist Resorts, which rents out chalets at East Coast Park.
