She was driving from KL International Airport when another car travelling in the same direction rammed into the back of her vehicle.

The impact caused the woman’s car to overturn along Maju Expressway, near the Bukit Jalil exit.

Car and driver then crashed into the cement road divider. The car burst into flames - with the woman still inside.

The horrific accident happened on Sunday (March 29) at about 7am, Malaysian newspaper The Star reported.

Fire and Rescue Department officers arrived at 7.11am to extinguish the flames and pull her and the other driver out of their cars.

Kuala Lumpur staff officer for traffic investigation and regulation Deputy Supt Markandan Subramaniam said:

“The victim was burnt beyond recognition. The body was brought to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for postmortem.
"We are still trying to confirm her identity using DNA.”

The other car driver, a 50-year-old hotel manager, has been arrested and is being investigated for reckless driving.
