Woman claims man locks her in dorm, kisses her, tries to drag her to his bed
On Feb 11, Ms Zhang arrived from Shandong, China, and crashed in her friend's dormitory in Geylang.
About a week later, she met a man who was in his 30s or 40s. He was staying in the unit below hers. He, too, was from China and worked in construction.
Ms Zhang needed a place to store her luggage and the man readily agreed to help. He instructed her to go to his unit on March 9 to check out the space she needed.
At about 8.30am, Ms Zhang went to the man's dormitory and found that the man lying on his bed, she told Shin Min Daily News.
The man had invited her in and stood up to switch on the light before locking the door.
"You have a good figure, you can find a local man," the man reportedly told Ms Zhang, who added that "he suddenly locked the door, walked up to me, held my face, kissed me on the lips and dragged me to bed".
Ms Zhang struggled and yelled at the man before she broke away and fled.
"I felt really sick when I got back to my friend's dormitory. I brushed my teeth twice after the incident."
The police confirmed that they received a report of a person claiming to have been molested.
A 48-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case and investigations are ongoing.
