Woman hit 4 times in drive-by shooting

Two men shot a woman four times on the shoulder and chest on Monday (June 15).

The 26-year-old Mongolian woman was in the passenger seat of a luxury four-wheel vehicle driven by a Sibu businessman when the shooting happened.

According to The Star Online, the vehicle was parked by the side of the road in Dataran Bandar Utama, near Kuala Lumpur, when two attackers riding a motorcycle opened fire at the window on the driver's side.

At least eight shots were reportedly fired into the car.

While the 35-year-old businessman was apparently unhurt, the woman was hit four times.

Rammed into gunmen

A motorist who was at the scene rammed his car into the motorcycle the assailants were on, causing them to fall off the motorcycle.

But they managed to get on the bike again and escape.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the motive of the attack could be revenge, although he said that they were "not ruling out anything yet."

He was able to confirmed that the assailants used a semi-automatic 9mm caliber pistol.

According to The Rakyat Post, the woman is now in intensive care unit of University Malaya Medical Centre and is in stable condition.
