After mix-up, Miss Philippines crowned Miss Universe 2015
Oops.
In front of a live global audience this morning (Dec 21, Singapore time) the wrong winner for Miss Universe was announced.
The host of of the pageant, comedian Steve Harvey initially announced that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez won the pageant.
After he realised his error, he apologised and then quickly announced that the actual winner was Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Needless to say Miss Philippines, and we imagine the rest of the world was stunned at the result.
Congratulations Miss Philippines!
It was not such a great night for Harvey, though.
He took to Twitter to apologise for his "terribly honest human mistake" but then ended up getting both Miss Philippines and Miss Colombia's countries wrong:

According to CNN, ESPN's Darren Rovell called it "the worst mistake in TV awards show history".
