Angry KL cabbies target Uber, GrabCar drivers
Fed up with what they say is a lack of action by authorities, about 100 taxi drivers around the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) area are on the hunt for ridesharing cars, Uber and GrabCar.
The cabbies "operation" even saw the "arrest" of some drivers.
Big Blue Taxi Services founder Shamsubahrin Ismail said they started their operation two days ago.
He said: "We've been calling the Land Public Transport Commission but the answer we get is that they have no manpower. So, we have no choice."

He claimed the taxi drivers at KLCC caught seven cars this week, The Star reported.
Three of the rideshare drivers were held by the cabbies before being handed over to the police while four others fled.
In video clips on social media, the taxi drivers are heard shouting and hitting the ridesharing cars.
"Get out, customer! Get out! Get out!" shouts a taxi driver in one of the clips while another hits a car in front of them.
In another clip, a taxi driver can be seen kicking a traffic cone at a fleeing car.
The cameraman then faces the camera and says: "That's the story if you use GrabCar or Uber."
The Star reported that the attacks by taxi drivers were not limited to KLCC alone.
An Uber driver who wanted to be known as Brandon, 33, said a taxi driver hit his car and shouted at a customer he picked up near Petaling Street last month.
"I had to push my customer back into the car… Then, he (the taxi driver) punched the window and I sped off," he said.
Mr Shamsubahrin claimed that some Uber and GrabCar drivers drove aggressively to evade capture by KLCC's taxi drivers.
