Father-of-two charged with flashing genitals at schoolgirls
An alleged flasher asked the Malaysian court for a lower bail amount than the RM8,000 (S$2,800) sought by the prosecution, saying he was just a taxi driver and had to support his two daughters, aged six and 12.
He had allegedly flashed his genitals at two female students in front of their secondary school in Kuala Lumpur on July 30 at 3.50pm.
Shatul Hameed Bathusha Abdul Kader, 37, was charged at a magistrate’s court on Wednesday (Aug 5) with uttering words or making gestures intended to insult someone’s modesty.
If convicted, he could be jailed for up to five years and fined.
Magistrate Ashraf Rizal Abdul Manan set bail at RM5,000 with one surety.
The case is scheduled for mention on Sept 9.
In the meantime, Shatul Hameed is not allowed to be near the school and has to report to the police station during the first week of every month.
He is also banned from approaching the witnesses or victims during the investigation period.
