Woman aborts baby to save brother

A five-month-month pregnant woman underwent an abortion so that she could donate her bone marrow to her 25-year-old brother, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The 27-year-old woman from Anhui, China, went for an abortion after she learned that she was a suitable donor.

Ms Xiang Long Yan, who has a daughter, decided to save her 25-year-old brother’s life after discussions with her husband and family members.

She even paid her brother’s medical fees of 300,000 yuan (S$64,000) with her savings.

Another woman from Hubei, China, also decided to go for an abortion to save the life of her twin brother, who is suffering from leukaemia.

The 24-year-old He Xi said it was a difficult decision but she decided to save the life of her brother.
