Axe attack on girlfriend after Facebook compliment

A 28-year-old woman in Malaysia was attacked with an axe by her boyfriend, after her Facebook friends complimented her on her looks.

The woman got into an argument with her 52-year-old boyfriend when she returned to their home in Taman Pisang Awak, George Town, on Thursday night.

The boyfriend reached for an axe and hit her hands and legs with the non-cutting edge of the weapon before chasing her out, reported the New Straits Times.

The victim lodged a police report the next day.

Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said investigations revealed that the suspect had thought that his girlfriend had another boyfriend, although she denied it.
