Two teenagers playing Pokemon Go in Florida were shot at by a home owner who thought they were burglars.

The 37-year-old man confronted the two teens, who were in their car outside his house late on Saturday night, BBC reported.

He grabbed his handgun when he left the house and when he approached the car, he heard the pair say, "Did you get anything?"

He thought they may have just broken into his home so he stepped in front of the car and ordered the teens not to move, reported the Orlando Sentinel.

He claimed the vehicle sped towards him and he moved out of its path and opened fire, police said. He called the police after the duo fled.

The parent of one of the teens said the pair did not realise they were being shot at and thought only that the man was trying to scare them.
