Massive floods hit Japan, 3 dead

At least three people have been killed and 20 others are missing when huge floods surged through southern Japan. Unprecedented torrential rain caused rivers to burst their banks, sweeping away roads and houses, and destroying schools, reported AFP. Soldiers were scrambling yesterday to reach people cut off by torrents of swirling water or threatened by landslides. They rescued 250 people.
