Saudi millionaire acquitted of rape: 'I slipped, not slept, with her'
Saudi millionaire acquitted of raping 18-year-old in his London flat
A Saudi millionaire has been cleared of raping a teenager after telling the court that he might have accidentally penetrated the 18-year-old when he tripped and fell.
Property developer Ehsan Abdulaziz, 46, was accused of forcing himself on the teenager as she slept on a sofa in his flat in Maida Vale in west London in August last year.
But he claimed that he might have fallen on top of her, reported the MailOnline.
He was cleared of one count of rape following a trial in the Southwark Crown Court last week.
The teenager met Mr Abdulaziz when she went to the exclusive Cirque le Soir nightclub in London's West End on Aug 7 last year.
She was with her 24-year-old friend, who had known Mr Abdulaziz for about seven months.
He later offered them a ride home in his Aston Martin.
The three went back to his apartment, where he offered them vodka before taking the 24-year-old into the bedroom for sex.
The 18-year-old claimed that she woke up in the early hours of the morning to find Mr Abdulaziz on top and forcing himself on her.
But he said his intention was to offer her a T-shirt to sleep in, or to offer to pay for a taxi ride home for her.
He also claimed that she pulled him and placed his hand between her legs, reported the MailOnline. That was when he fell, according to Mr Abdulaziz.
"I'm fragile, I fell down but nothing ever happened, between me and this girl nothing ever happened," he told the court.
He claimed that traces of his DNA could have been found in her vagina because of the fall. He also said it was possible he had semen on his hands after the sexual encounter with her friend.
During the trial, Judge Martin Griffiths took the rare step of allowing 20 minutes of Mr Abdulaziz's evidence to be heard in private.
After the press was allowed back into court, Mr Abdulaziz insisted that he respected women.
The businessman said he had never had a one-night stand in the 20 years he had lived in London.
During cross-examination, it was revealed that Mr Abdulaziz is married and living with his wife and 10-year-old son.
But at the time of the incident, his wife and son were spending the summer in her native Czech Republic.
