M'sian primary school teacher held for growing weed
He likes gardening.
But a primary school teacher grew more than just flowers in a house in Selangor. He was among four men, aged 34 to 45, arrested for growing marijuana behind the house.
All four tested positive for drugs and have been remanded until Oct 7, Star Online reported.
Police said they received a tip-off from the public and raided the house on Tuesday afternoon.
Nipped in the bud
Selangor Narcotics CID chief Asst Comm Md Tahir Kassim said the teacher and three of his friends have been growing more than 30 plants for about eight months.
“We are still checking to see if they were growing these plants for their own consumption or for distribution,” he said during a press conference yesterday.
Two are businessmen while the last man is unemployed.
The unemployed man has a criminal record for a drug-related offence.
Besides the plants, police also seized 914g of processed marijuana and various drug paraphernalia.
