Five youths arrested for rioting with deadly weapon in Woodlands
Police arrested five youths on Wednesday for rioting with a deadly weapon.
The group had attacked a 21-year-old man on Tuesday at Woodlands Avenue 3. One of them injured the man with a knife, stated a police press release on Thursday.
Police arrived at the scene shortly before 6.30pm, but the group had already fled.
Officers managed to identify those involved after conducting enquiries and viewing closed-circuit television footage taken in the area.
The five youths, aged between 16 and 22, were arrested at different places. They will be charged in court on Friday.
If found guilty of the crime, each can be jailed for up to 10 years and caned.
