Singaporean convicted of organising Cambodian sex tour
In the first case of its kind here, Chan Chung Hong, 31, pleaded guilty to 12 charges of various child sex-related offences, which included organising a sex tour to Cambodia.
Chan was initially slapped with 145 charges of various child pornography and child sex-related offences.
He pleaded guilty to seven charges of transmitting obscene material, three of promoting commercial sex with a minor outside Singapore, one charge of intending to facilitate the commercial sex with a minor outside Singapore, and one charge of possessing obscene films.
The other 133 charges have been taken into consideration during sentencing.
Chan got to know other paedophiles online and exchanged child pornographic videos and images with them.
Chan was nabbed after he had bought plane tickets for an undercover police officer to have commercial sex with minors in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The case has been adjourned to Feb 18 for Chan's lawyer to prepare submissions on sentencing.
