EAT CHOCOLATE, IT'S GOOD FOR YOUR HEART
Chocoholics, rejoice!
Eating up to 100g of chocolate a day can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.
A new study by British scientists, published in the peer review journal Heart, found that those who eat the equivalent of about two standard chocolate bars a day are 11 per cent less likely than those who eat little to no chocolate to have heart attack and stroke.
They are also 25 per cent less likely to die of cardiovascular disease.
The long-running British study tracked nearly 21,000 adults in and around Norfolk, England, for an average of 12 years.
Those who ate the most chocolate not only lowered the rates of heart attack and stroke but they also had, on average, lower body mass index, lower systolic blood pressure and inflammation, and lower rate of diabetes.
And here is a little motivation: The chocolate eaters also tended to exercise more.
