S'pore bodybuilders win two golds in India

Singapore won two gold medals at the recently-concluded World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Competition, held in Mumbai, India.

Sue Suharni won the women's bodybuilding event, while Rinn Farina came in first in the women's athletic physique (1.65m) event.

The three-day event, which ended on Tuesday, was hosted by the Indian Bodybuilders Federation with more than 400 national and international athletes taking part in 35 categories for both men and women in bodybuilding, model physique, athletic physique and sports physique. - DAVID LEE

Fifa fines Indonesian clubs for Twitter leaks

Fifa said it has fined three Indonesian clubs for publishing secret transfer information on Twitter - the first time football's world governing body has handed out sanctions for such social media offences.

Persebaya Surabaya and Persires Bali Devata were each fined 25,000 Swiss francs ($33,800) for publishing confidential data on club-linked Twitter accounts.

PSIS Semarang were ordered to pay 15,000 Swiss francs for republishing the other teams' tweets and publishing a confidential letter sent to them by Fifa. - AFP.

Kobe edges closer to Jordan's scoring feat

Kobe Bryant, closing in on Michael Jordan for third on the NBA's all-time scoring list, scored 32 points yesterday morning (Singapore time) to help the Los Angeles Lakers to a 98-95 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Bryant now needs 31 points to pass Jordan, with 32,292 career points, for third place on the all-time scoring list. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 38,387 and Karl Malone with 36,928, scored more in their careers. - AFP.
