Wimbledon is notorious for its all-white dressing rule.

While the tournament's guidelines for dressing also encompass undergarments, which can have a thin band of colour on them, it didn't stop some tennis stars from wearing coloured knickers last year.

The All-England Club, which organises Wimbledon, has now taken a step to remind errant dressers that the all-white rule will be strictly enforced this year - including undergarments.

Wimbledon spokesman Jon Friend said: " The rule is unchanged but the players have been reminded, and there is now a clarification and if there was a question in years gone by those questions have been well and truly answered."

Aside from communicating to rule to players, notices have been placed in the locker rooms and newsletters.

Any player found to be breaching the rule will be made to swop out the offending article of clothing before being allowed on-court.
