Fencer fights his way to Singapore's first medal at Asian Games
Fencer Lim Wei Wen clinched Singapore's first medal - a bronze - at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, today (Sep 20).
The 29-year-old lost 15-5 to South Korea's Olympic bronze medallist Jung Jinsun in the men's individual epee semi-final, but will share the bronze with Vietnam's NguyenTien Nyat, who lost in the other semi-final, as there isn't a bronze-medal bout.
The 177th-ranked Singaporean overcame higher-ranked opponents earlier today, including 74th-ranked compatriot Samson Lee, to reach the last four in South Korea.
