Bento: South Korea gave Chile a fight
South Korea coach Paulo Bento was pleased that his side took the fight to Chile as they played to a 0-0 draw at the Suwon World Cup Stadium last night.
The Taeguk Warriors fielded a strong line-up, with Son Heung Min leading the line, but were unable to break the deadlock against a Chile side comprising the likes of Arturo Vidal, Gary Medal and Mauricio Isla.
The result could have been different had Barcelona midfielder Vidal scored with a glorious chance in the 63rd minute.
Bento believes that his team, who were playing only their second game under him, will continue to improve, reported the Yonhap agency.
He said: "Both (teams) got a fair result and it would have not been strange if the match ended in a draw with goals because both created good chances."
Last week, South Korea had beaten Costa Rica 2-0 in Bento's first match in charge, with goals by Lee Jae Sung and Nam Tae Hee.
They will face Uruguay and Panama next month.
They are also scheduled to take on Australia and Uzbekistan in preparation for the Asian Cup Finals in January next year.
