Catch Ronaldo in action with Serie A Pass
Football fans in Singapore hoping to catch Cristiano Ronaldo in action as the Serie A kicks off on Saturday (Aug 18) can do so via the Serie A Pass (http://www.seriea-pass.com).
The Serie A Pass, an OTT channel via internet, offers two subscription options - US$8.99 (S$12.50) for a month's access or US$59.99 for an annual pass. It can also be found on iOS and Android devices. A free seven-day trial is also available.
There is no broadcast deal in place for live Serie A matches in Singapore this season. Eleven Sports previously held the broadcasting rights to Serie A but, after deciding to cease their linear TV broadcast in Singapore, Eleven Sports became unavailable on Singtel TV from this month.
Said a spokesman from IMG, which holds the global rights for Serie A: “We are still in discussions with broadcasters, but to ensure fans can see live coverage of top Italian football we are making Serie A Pass available to viewers in Singapore.
“Serie A Pass was a commitment we made to Serie A when we secured these rights. It is already available in a number of other countries including Malaysia, Brazil and Latin America, the Indian sub-continent and The Netherlands."
The spokesman added that anyone who signs up for the Serie A Pass will have access to the subscription regardless of any potential TV deals with broadcasters in Singapore.
The Serie A kicks off on Saturday night (Aug 18), with Chievo hosting Ronaldo's Juventus at 11.59pm.
