City title win hard to stomach for Ferdinand
Rio Ferdinand spoke of the pain of seeing Manchester City lift the English Premier League trophy.
The defender, who was released from Manchester United at the end of the season, said: "It’s never enjoyable watching another team win something you consider your own.
“We’ve always had a big rivalry with City, but over the last three years they’ve been challenging more, and the rivalry has gone up and up.
“But you have to be respectful. We’ve had a successful last 20 years. So when anyone else wins it, we know how hard it is to win.”
The 35-year-old was speaking at a press conference for SingTel's SG Game On! event along with City striker Sergio Aguero.
During the event, the two football superstars traveled around Singapore pitting themselves against each other in an Ultimate Selfie Challenge, which was won by Ferdinand.
