Colourful new boots for birthday boy Messi
Lionel Messi turns 27 today (June 24) and adidas have decided to add some colour to the celebrations.
The German apparel maker has released a rather colourful limited edition Battle Pack F50 boot to mark the Argentina and Barcelona maestro's birthday.
According to reports, the forward will don the special boots for his birthday training session ahead of the Albiceleste's World Cup Group F match against Nigeria on Thursday morning (June 26, Singapore time).
While the pastel hues might be in line with Messi's image as an all-round good guy, it's hard not to feel that adidas and rivals Nike are trying to outdo each other in a gaudiest boot competition.
