Der Kaiser claims Reus could join United next year
Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer believes Marco Reus will leave Borussia Dortmund in 2015, naming Manchester United as a possible destination.
In a move that will surely add more fuel to a fiery relationship between the two Bundesliga rivals, the German legend is sure that the 25-year-old star will depart from the Signal Iduna Park.
While Bayern are intent on landing the talented attacking midfielder, Der Kaiser reckons Reus will have his pick of Europe's finest clubs if he chooses not to join the Bavarian giants.
Reus class
Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Beckenbauer said: "I can imagine him at Bayern very well.
"If you can get a player of his class, you need to try it.
“I am sure: if he doesn’t go to Bayern in 2015, he will probably go to another big international club such as Real Madrid or Manchester United.
"Dortmund are unlikely to be able to hold on to him."
Expect a terse response out of Dortmund to come in the following days.
Especially from coach Juergen Klopp, who claimed he will eat a broomstick if the "bulls**t story" claiming Mats Hummels will move to United for 20 million euros turned out to be true.
