Ex-City keeper does a Paul Robinson and concedes comic own goal

With 127 international caps, 34-year-old Andreas Isaksson will be forgiven for thinking that he has seen it all.

But, experienced or not, his latest howler will be hard to erase from his memory.

Isaksson’s Kasimpasa lost 4-1 away to Bursaspor in a Turkish top-flight match on Sunday, but it wasn’t the scoreline that has been haunting him since then – it was the opponents’ fourth goal.

When his teammate passed the ball back in his direction, the former Manchester City goalkeeper had the simple task of stopping the ball or making a routine clearance.

Instead, he contrived to nudge the ball into the back of his net.

Isaksson's blunder certainly conjures up images of former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

The ex-Spurs man fluffed his lines while on international duty against Croatia in 2008 and allowed a harmless Gary Neville pass to roll into his net, condemning the Three Lions to a humiliating 2-0 defeat.

Sweden fans must be cowering at the sight of Isaksson now, considering he is the man expected to stand between the posts for them at Euro 2016.
