Group A: Honours even as Vietnam are held by Indonesia
VIETNAM 2
(Que Ngoc Hai 11, Le Cong Vinh 68)
INDONESIA 2
(Zulham Zamrun 33, Samsul Arif 84)
Suzuki Cup hosts Vietnam twice squandered their lead as Indonesia snatched a 2-2 draw in Hanoi at the My Dinh Stadium on Saturday night.
The Red Jerseys took the lead after 11 minutes through Que Ngoc Hai, who capitalised on Indonesia's poor defending from a corner.
The lead lasted 22 minutes before Dinh Tien Thanh gifted the ball to Zulham Zamrun and the Merah Putih midfielder made no mistake as he drilled the ball into the bottom corner.
While Toshiya Miura's side regained the upper hand with a superb strike from Le Cong Vinh in the 68th minute, they could not make their dominance count as Samsul Arif pounced to score Indonesia's second equaliser on 84 minutes.
Vietnam's next match will be against Laos on Tuesday after Indonesia take on the Philippines earlier that day.
