Hazard set to sign new deal with Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has said he is “100 per cent staying at Chelsea”.

The Belgian, 23, said he is in talks over a new contract, Press Association reported.

This will ease fans’ fears that he may be tempted to move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The winger scored 17 goals for Chelsea last season.

After Spaniard Juan Mata joined Manchester United, Hazard was handed the No 10 shirt.

Speaking to the Belgian newspaper Le Dernière Heure, Hazard said: “I am staying at Chelsea 100 per cent.”

Contract talks

He told skysports.com that the contract talks are just beginning.

“But the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means they have a lot of confidence in me that I can do a good job and that they can count on me. PSG never made any suggestions to me personally.”

Hazard is now with the Belgian squad in Brazil for the World Cup.
