Japan star Honda appointed GM of Cambodia
Japanese football star Keisuke Honda was appointed general manager of Cambodia's national team yesterday.
Honda, who signed for A-League side Melbourne Victory earlier this month and retired from international football, will work without a salary for the length of the two-year contract.
The 32-year-old former AC Milan player, who has a football academy in Phnom Penh, said that he was keen to assist Cambodian football and promote the country.
He added that he would speak regularly with the players via video-conference while playing in Australia and would spend as much time in Cambodia as possible. - AFP
