Matic does a John Terry - puts on full Chelsea kit to celebrate
John Terry recently called Nemanja Matic the new Claude Makelele.
In truth, the 26-year-old Chelsea midfielder is simply just the new Terry.
Matic didn’t play in Sunday’s League Cup final win over Tottenham Hotspur, because he picked up a suspension during the game against Burnley less than two weeks ago.
But that didn’t stop him from putting on the full Chelsea kit when he joined in the victory celebrations, despite being seen smartly dressed before kick-off.
Chelsea skipper Terry set the precedent himself.
He became the butt of jokes for doing the same following the Blues’ Champions League win in 2012, and with shin pads to boot, after sitting out the final because of injury.
So, maybe this is just a case of Matic following the leader.
Unfortunately for Matic, that’s not all.
There’s also a video of him doing the knee-slide celebration on the Wembley turf, but, well, he didn’t quite pull that off either.
Instead of a nice, graceful slide, he bounced up as his knees touched the ground, before falling over.
