Ribery ruled out of City clash
Franck Ribery will not play in Bayern Munich's Champions League opener against Manchester City due to injury.
The Frenchman was on target for the Bundesliga champions when he returned from injury against Stuttgart over the weekend.
But Bayern coach Pep Guardiola has revealed that the 31-year-old has picked up yet another injury during training and ruled him out for the clash against the English champions on Thursday morning (Singapore time).
While he did not specify the problem, the Spaniard hinted that the attacker had suffered a relapse of a knee tendon problem that caused him to miss the start of the season.
In pain
The former Barcelona boss said: "After training the physio said that Franck would have to go to the doctor.
"Today they told me that he couldn’t play. That's all."
Guardiola did have some good news to share as he confirmed that Dutch winger Arjen Robben had resumed training while new signing Mehdi Benatia is nearing full fitness.
