Waiter suspended over photo with RVP
Would you risk your job to have a photo snapped with one of your football heroes?
Waiter Kyson Forde did when Manchester United striker Robin van Persie patronised the posh Cliff restaurant in Barbados with his family - and received a two-week suspension for it.
A source told the Mirror Online: "Maybe Kyson shouldn’t have bothered RVP when he was out for a meal, but it seems an over-reaction.
"Kyson is a massive Man U fan and this was his one chance to get a snap with his hero
"Kyson’s worked at The Cliff for about four years. He's seen famous people in there before, and when Van Persie came in he couldn’t resist the chance of a snap.
"He's a nice guy and loves his job, so he's gutted he's been suspended."
Colleague also suspended
One of Forde's colleagues, the man who took the photo, was also handed a similar punishment.
According to the Mirror Online, Forde earns about £1,100 ($2,300) a month including tips.
Even though van Persie did not complain about the snap, restaurant manager Peter Harris confirmed the suspensions for using a phone on the restaurant floor.
