Will Ferrell stokes up US fans ahead of Germany game
They say every good football team needs a great anchorman.
It looks like the United States football team has one in an Hollywood star.
Comedian Will Ferrell, who played the titular character in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, appeared at the US' World Cup fan headquarters in Recife ahead of their Group G clash against Germany to pump the fans up.
In a video uploaded on YouTube, Ferrell was introduced by US Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati as the team's "replacement player", while a caption referred to the funny man as the team's "secret weapon".
While the actor admitted that he wasn't in the best shape, he couldn't resist a dig at Uruguay's Luis Suarez.
He vowed to "bite every German if I have to" in order to help the US win, much to the delight of the assembled fans.
