Look away Lions, Malaysians are asking, "Where is your goalkeeper?"
Now that Singapore's made an early AFF Suzuki Cup exit at the hands of Malaysia, a new meme has started trending over the Causeway.
The meme is called "Keeper kat mane", which is colloquial Malay for "Where is the goalkeeper?
The phrase, of course, refers to the moment during Saturday's (Nov 29) Singapore-Malaysia game when Lions goalkeeper Hassan Sunny was stranded in the opposition half after almost scoring an equalising goal from a last minute corner.
Look away guys, it's not pretty.
While the Malaysians have made a meme out of the situation, Singaporeans are not pinning the blame on Hassan.
Most have said they thought that it was a natural thing to do, considering that the Lions desperately needed an equaliser at that point.
The meme is of course using a line from Singapore's very own Taufik Batisah's hit song #AwakKatMane
Very clever guys, but hopefully Singapore will be on the winning side the next time Singapore and Malaysia meet.
